The inaugural Cabo Queens Los Cabos Fishing Tournament left behind far more than results, trophies, or photographs. It created memories that will remain forever in the hearts of the women who accepted the challenge of heading out to sea and embracing an entirely new adventure.
At the end of the tournament, we asked participants about the most exciting moment they experienced. Their answers captured the true spirit of Cabo Queens: an event where sportfishing becomes a journey of personal growth, friendship, and unforgettable emotions.
The Moment That Marked the Beginning of a New Story
For many women, the excitement began long before the first fishing line touched the water.
Hearing the official starting signal and watching dozens of boats leave Cabo San Lucas Marina at the same time became a memory they will treasure forever.
“Hearing the starting signal was incredible. Watching all the boats head out together in search of the winning catch is something I’ll never forget.”
The excitement was shared by everyone. Many participants had never experienced a sportfishing tournament before, yet that sunrise made them feel they were becoming part of something truly historic.
The Challenge of Landing a Fish for the First Time
One of the most frequently shared memories was the moment a fish struck the line. The adrenaline, physical effort, and determination surprised even women who had never held a fishing rod before.
“When the fish finally hit and you were trying to bring it in, telling yourself, ‘I can do this. I’ve got this. I can land this fish,’ even when your arms were hurting, was an incredible feeling.”
Another participant remembered spending more than an hour battling a dorado before finally bringing it aboard.
“There were moments when I was ready to give up, but everyone’s encouragement and support gave me the strength to keep going. The feeling of finally seeing that fish on the boat was indescribable.”
Her team would go on to earn second place, but for her, the greatest victory was discovering what she was truly capable of.

“This was my first fishing tournament, and it exceeded every expectation. Watching the sunrise from the water, feeling the excitement of every moment, and spending the day with incredible women made the experience unforgettable.”
